FAMILY ATTORNEY

Lou Anne Demosky, Attorney at Law, offers services in all areas of family law.  Throughout Pennsylvania, with offices in Greensburg and Uniontown, PA, Attorney Demosky is available to aid clients with FAMILY LAW LEGAL ISSUES including CHILD CUSTODY.

With the laws of each state having their own variations, cross-state or multi-state family law legal issues can become complicated.  Based upon which state's law govern the specific proceeding, the legal needs of the client may change.  The same is true concerning in which county the legal action lies.  Therefore, procedures will differ, and the client needs to hire and attorney who is familiar with the specific county's and state's laws in order to enjoy the quickest resolution to the legal matter at hand.

Attorney Demosky has handled cases in Pennsylvania that have originated in other states and/or have parties outside of the Commonwealth.  Likewise, Attorney Demosky has represented clients whose actions are in the Western Pennsylvania area, such as the counties of Fayette, Westmoreland, Greene, Allegheny, Washington, Butler, Armstrong, Bedford, and Somerset.  Each county has its own procedural rules which sometimes drastically vary.  Therefore, it is imperative that clients have legal counsel who know their specific county's procedures.  Do not be afraid to inquire of a prospective attorney's knowledge and experience in the geographical area of your case.

Additionally, clients need to be aware that different attorneys and law firms serve different legal needs at different legal rates.  When searching for a lawyer, keep your specific needs in mind.  Preliminary research can be quite helpful when looking for legal counsel.

Web sites may offer a wealth of information about a specific lawyer and the types of law in which he or she practices and/or specializes.  Word of mouth is another useful tool to clients when choosing an attorney.  No matter how you are referred to a specific law firm, the key is to schedule an initial consultation wherein you can become more informed of whether your legal needs will be best served by them.

Asking questions is the best way to learn how an attorney will proceed with the attorney/client relationship.  All matters should be discussed from the specific facts of your legal situation to the amount you will be charged and the form and frequency of communication provided to you from the attorney.  Some people prefer e-mail over telephone calls, while other desire to have frequent updates of their cases through regular mailings.

It is not what your specific needs are that matter most, but rather ensuring that they are able to be met by the lawyer you choose to hire.  Clients are allowed to inquire of prospective attorneys how busy they are, how expensive they are, and how experienced they are in a certain field of law.

Similar to choosing any other type of service provider, such as a doctor or a plumber, the more you know about the individual, the better able you will be to make a final decision.

Attorney Demosky welcomes all questions during her initial consultation.  She will also inform the prospective client of her assessment of the case and what she is able or not able to pursue through legal action(s).

The price for consultations varies upon the type of case and amount of time required for a thorough discussion of the client's legal needs.  Consultation fees are waived in certain cases, such as Workers' Compensation and personal injury, and can be deducted from the future retainer in other cases if an attorney/client relationship is established for future legal services.

Consultations can be scheduled by either calling our Greensburg office at 724-837-6169 or by calling our Uniontown office at 724-438-1341 or by e-mailing us at the following address: Web@DemoskyLaw.com.  Please be sure to tell us in what office you would like to schedule your consultation.  We will also need to know the referral source and the type of case in order to quote you a consultation fee.  Your name, address, and telephone number will need to be provided as well.  Also, please be advised that Demosky Law Offices has a 24-hour cancellation policy in which a $50.00 no-show fee is charged if the client does not show for his or her appointment and has not called or e-mailed in advance to cancel and/or reschedule.  This is due to the block of time that is saved for the consultation in which is reserved for that purpose and the inability to schedule other clients and services during that time span.

Attorney Demosky wishes to thank you for taking the time to view her web site and looks forward to having the opportunity to meet with you and potentially help you with your legal needs.
